History of Education Quarterly is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scholarship on the history of education. It is the official journal of the field’s leading professional society in the United States, the History of Education Society, and has been published continuously since 1960.
 
For this policy dialogue, the HEQ editors asked myself and notable professor, Jonathan Zimmerman, to discuss the latest round of history wars in K-12 public education, exploring the extent to which the past helps us understand the troubled present, as well as what the future might hold.
