Writing Uncolonized Narratives Workshop
Book Defenders, was Fandom Forward’s 2022 summer campaign all about supporting universal access to books by getting stories into the hands of everyone who needs them.
The #KeepWritingBannedBooks workshops helped attendees learn how to most effectively and creatively share their stories in spite of all the bans. Black Nerds Create’s Writing Uncolonized Narratives workshop helped attendees interrogate the ways experiences and biases seep into our work and consider how we can begin to work from a decolonized mindset. We discussed how to uncolonize your writing, your worlds, and your stories when building imagined liberated worlds.
